One World Fund was created from a simple question: What if we came together before the crisis? The inspiration behind One World Fund is deeply personal. As a single mother, I lost my job and was forced to make difficult financial choices. After paying into my life insurance for more than eight years, I could no longer keep up with the payments and eventually lost my coverage. When I later tried to get insurance again, I was older, and health issues made it more difficult and expensive to get the protection I once had. That experience made me realize how quickly life can change, and how easily people can lose the protection they have worked hard to maintain. At the same time, I had seen communities repeatedly come together when someone passed away without life insurance or enough resources to support the family left behind. The generosity was inspiring, but it raised an important question: Why wait until someone is gone before we come together to help? That question became One World Fund. For $200 per year, members become part of a community built around collective support and planning for the future. Membership helps support the operation and growth of One World Fund and includes access to a life insurance benefit at no additional membership cost. Members who choose to participate in the insurance benefit can opt in and have their information shared with the insurance provider, which determines eligibility for coverage.
